We resurrected this site because we didn't want the years of work by Gloria Crumpler Vester and her fellow Crumpler researchers simply to be lost. Nobody has maintained it for a very long time, so many of its links no longer work — and we know. As time permits we'll go through it and tidy the broken links; volunteers are very welcome.
All of the family information has been carried over to our family history site, including a separate tree for Gloria's own database: Gloria Crumpler Vester's Crumpler Database · The Lucies Family History Site.
Please take the site for what it is: a slice of history, from the days of the rotary telephone, the daily newspaper and polite politics. — HMDP

Each of the links at the left will take you to a cemetery page with of list of the tombstone photographs I have of people buried there. A few photographs from each cemetery are posted there. Any of the others on the list not posted can be obtained thru e-mailing me. I go back to Cumberland and Sampson Counties, N.C. about one week end of every month to see my parents, who still live there. Any pictures anyone would like that I don't have, I will be happy to take. All you have to do is tell me who they are and which cemetery to go to. I do not charge for this, but I do not have a lot of extra time on these trips, but with good directions and names.... I can get what you want on one of my trips.
