We resurrected this site because we didn't want the years of work by Gloria Crumpler Vester and her fellow Crumpler researchers simply to be lost. Nobody has maintained it for a very long time, so many of its links no longer work — and we know. As time permits we'll go through it and tidy the broken links; volunteers are very welcome.
All of the family information has been carried over to our family history site, including a separate tree for Gloria's own database: Gloria Crumpler Vester's Crumpler Database · The Lucies Family History Site.
Please take the site for what it is: a slice of history, from the days of the rotary telephone, the daily newspaper and polite politics. — HMDP

The pictures below are of the Franklin Marion Crumpler homeplace. It is located in Bonnetsville, North Carolina just off of Highway 24. It is is very bad shape, as you can see, and almost completely overgrown by the bordering terrain.
The Blackman Crumpler homeplace is located right on the road in Bonnetsville, North Carolina on Highway 24. I myself have drove by the place for years and not known that it was a family home at one time.
