We resurrected this site because we didn't want the years of work by Gloria Crumpler Vester and her fellow Crumpler researchers simply to be lost. Nobody has maintained it for a very long time, so many of its links no longer work — and we know. As time permits we'll go through it and tidy the broken links; volunteers are very welcome.
All of the family information has been carried over to our family history site, including a separate tree for Gloria's own database: Gloria Crumpler Vester's Crumpler Database · The Lucies Family History Site.
Please take the site for what it is: a slice of history, from the days of the rotary telephone, the daily newspaper and polite politics. — HMDP
Please understand that the data is in this database is always changing, and a large portion of it has not been proven or documented. Quite a bit of data is based on second, third, or more hand information, and even on best guestimate. If you have documented or first hand information that contradicts with what I have here, please let me know so that I can change it, but be considerate and do not be rude about pointing out my mistakes to me. Thank you.
There are 16993 individuals and 5890 families representing 2813 surnames in this database.
