We resurrected this site because we didn't want the years of work by Gloria Crumpler Vester and her fellow Crumpler researchers simply to be lost. Nobody maintained it for many years, so a lot of its links had stopped working. We have pointed them to archived copies where any exist and marked the rest; if you spot something we missed, please tell us.
All of the family information has been carried over to our family history site, including a separate tree for Gloria's own database: Gloria Crumpler Vester's Crumpler Database · The Lucies Family History Site.
Please take the site for what it is: a slice of history, from the days of the rotary telephone, the daily newspaper and polite politics. — HMDP

I have found a little more on Sarah, the wife of William Crumpler. She was actually Sarah Malissa Crumpler and she remarried following the death of William. She married an Isaac Wade and had two more children.
Sarah and William Crumpler had the following children: Elizabeth born 1837 Hulda born 1838 Elijah born 1839 William Thomas born 1844 Nancy born 1848 Lewis H. born 1848 (twins?) Benjamin born abt 1850
All the children were born in Nashville, Davidson County, TN.
There was also a Raiford Crumpler in Davidson County and he was there about 1796. I need to find more information on this Raiford as well as on my William. I am sure that they are connected, but cannot find the info I need to make that connection.
Any help on the Crumpler families in Davidson County would be greatly appreciated as I have been stuck on this family for many years.
