Crumpler Family Genealogy · 1998–2010 · brought back to life in 2026

We resurrected this site because we didn't want the years of work by Gloria Crumpler Vester and her fellow Crumpler researchers simply to be lost. Nobody maintained it for many years, so a lot of its links had stopped working. We have pointed them to archived copies where any exist and marked the rest; if you spot something we missed, please tell us.

All of the family information has been carried over to our family history site, including a separate tree for Gloria's own database: Gloria Crumpler Vester's Crumpler Database · The Lucies Family History Site.

Please take the site for what it is: a slice of history, from the days of the rotary telephone, the daily newspaper and polite politics. — HMDP

I can trace my family on the Crumpler side back to a Blackman Crumpler. He had a son named Thomas Crumpler. Thomas had a son named Cornelius Rhodes Crumpler. Cornelius Crumpler's daughter Carrie Crumpler married John Pickett Clewis from Columbus County, NC. One of their sons, Paul J. Clewis is my father. After being told about this sight by my sister Margaret, I started to look at this Crumpler info and I become more interested each time I get into it. I only have one grand-aunt living on the Crumpler side. Her name is Virginia Mac Crumpler. She is a victim of Alzheimer's disease therefore she can't be of help to me in a family research. In years past I have heard her mention some of the names of the Sampson County, NC Crumplers. She has spoken of Redman and Bluman Crumpler also. Oh, How I wish I could have known when I was a teenager that I was going to be so caught-up in searching my family tree. I have a lot of ends to tie-up in this tree. Would be glad to hear from any of my kin..Thanks
